Creating the Face

3d Print of CAD render

Evolving from what I’ve learned…

I decided to create the facial details in clay on the 3D print, as it’s easier to portray a more subtle emotion that doesn’t appear stiff. more subtle emotion. Draping the glass reminds me more of the water flow (texture) and less of a fabric. I want to focus more on a face emerging from water. The next steps involved, creating a mold and casting my 3D printed face in aluminum so glass could be draped over it.

Unveiling

My awesome TA, Sarah Swartwout, helped me through the entire process of molding and casting.
